A tragic turn of events unfolded on I-24 East near Harding Place just before the stroke of midnight Sunday, claiming the life of a 22-year-old passenger. Identified as Keijhan Ameer Roby, he was riding in the rear of a white Dodge Charger when the vehicle met its grim fate against a rock wall. According to a statement from the Nashville Police Department, the crash occurred as the Charger was speeding eastbound and attempting to overtake other vehicles on the shoulder of the road.

The misfortune continued to unfold when the driver, Daniel Lorenzo Tyler, aged 25, lost control during the reckless maneuver. The vehicle began to rotate, destined improperly to meet the wall tail first. The impact was severe enough to ensure that Roby did not survive his injuries at the scene of the accident.

The catastrophic event left Tyler seriously injured and in need of immediate transport to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The front seat passenger, whose identity has not been disclosed, miraculously walked away unscathed from the debris-strewn roadway. Nashville officials indicated that there were no immediate signs of impairment from any of the parties involved in the incident.
