In a moment of community and national spirit, Lewisville Police Officers undertook a task of honor last Thursday as they escorted a group of Medal of Honor recipients from DFW Airport to Gainesville, Texas. The convoy, led by five officers from the Lewisville Police Department, was part of a larger ongoing tradition recognizing the valor of these distinguished servicemen.
All veterans themselves, Officers Persinger, Lee, Blair, Michaelson, and Slye had the privilege to head the escort, a gesture received with community appreciation along their route. According to the Lewisville Police Department, many communities they passed demonstrated respect as the motorcade journeyed through, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the honorees on board.
