A frantic chase ending outside a motel in Redwood City led to the arrest of a man who allegedly kidnapped his four-year-old daughter following an altercation with the child's mother. In a drama-filled local rescue operation, San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies teamed up with the Atherton Police Department to stop Marco Misael Antonio Perezreyes, 25, accused of abducting the young girl on Saturday, confirmed by an official report from the sheriff's office.

Deputies converged on the scene after being flagged by the distressed mother, claiming her daughter was taken from the Budget Inn, situated at 2500 El Camino Real, and it turned out the suspect's vehicle matched one involved in a prior traffic pursuit initiated by Atherton Police. The deputies had been assisting in that pursuit. When they got to the scene, the vehicle was described, leading to a countywide broadcast being sent to other law enforcement agencies asking for assistance in finding the child.

After a pursuit on El Camino Real, the chase came to an abrupt end when Perezreyes pulled back into the motel parking lot where the child was originally reported to be kidnapped. The deputies apprehended the suspect without further ado, and the child was found unharmed and swiftly returned to the safety of her mother, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office detailed.

The sheriff's office listed the charges against Perezreyes, which included kidnapping, child endangerment, false imprisonment, and threatening a crime with intent to terrorize alongside reckless evading.
