A man has died after a collision in San Jose, marking the city's 14th traffic fatality this year, police said. The February accident involved a gray Infinity sedan and a gold Lexus SUV at Saratoga Avenue and Moorpark Avenue.

The Infinity, driven northbound by an adult male, slammed into the Lexus, which was stopped in traffic. Despite being rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, the sedan's driver was stabilized but later suffered paralysis and was pronounced dead on April 22. The coroner reported on April 25 that the injuries from the crash were a contributing factor in the man's death, according to the San Jose Police Department.

The occupants of the Lexus, an adult female driver and her female passenger, cooperated during the investigation following the crash. Both remained at the scene and escaped the incident unscathed. The identity of the deceased, following procedure, will be disclosed by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after next of kin have been notified.

The San Jose Police Department is now appealing to the public for any information regarding the collision. Detective Aldinger of the department's Traffic Investigations Unit can be reached by email at [email protected] or by phone at 408-277-4654. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via various platforms, including the P3TIPS mobile app, the tip line at (408) 947-STOP, or the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers website. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest, according to a statement obtained by the San José Police Department.
