Arizona State Senator Reprimanded for Using Public Resources on Far-Right Talk ShowSource: Google Street View

An Arizona state Senate Republican came under fire for tapping into public resources to appear on a talk show helmed by a host known for anti-Semitic commentary. Sen. Anthony Kern was reprimanded after he utilized Senate video equipment to guest on the "Stew Peters Show," a program conducted by Stew Peters, whom the Anti-Defamation League has flagged for anti-Semitic and far-right ideologies, as reported by the Arizona Mirror.

The broadcast in question featured Kern's critique of an event run by the opposing political side, which involved a drag story hour in the Arizona House. Peters, a figure notorious for circulating offensive content, is known to praise Nazi-related occurrences and spread anti-Semitic stereotypes through his show with incendiary intro sequences highlighting Jewish caricatures.

As a consequence to Kern's actions, Senate President Warren Petersen took decisive measures to prevent a repeat of the misuse of state facilities. "The Senate President does not approve of how the Senator chose to use legislative broadcast resources last week, and as a result, his privileges to use those resources for future interviews have been revoked," the Senate spokeswoman issued in a statement. Sen. Kern, now on the warpath for a Congress seat in West Valley, has yet to respond to the situation.
