Disney’s Oogie Boogie Bash is making an early return this year, starting August 25, and fans can expect a longer haunting season with 27 nights of Halloween fun. The bash, which will run through October 31, is spooking up Disney California Adventure with more dates than in previous years, indicating the growing popularity of the holiday event.

The events range from Aug. 25 to Oct. 31, and include Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, KTLA reported. In a move that signals the increasing appetite for pre-autumn scares, the resort is kicking off the celebrations well before Labor Day. Last year's bash sold out in record time, which lead to an anticipation that this year's longer schedule will also be swooped up quickly by eager families.

According to the KTLA, Disney California Adventure will let event ticket holders enter the park three hours before the festivities begin, typically at 6 p.m. Attractions like Radiator Springs Racers and Soarin’ Around the World will be open to delight thrill-seekers with shorter wait times.

There's a twist this year, not only in the number of dates but in merchandise too. The Orange County Register notes that Disney has already dropped a fresh line of themed merchandise which includes a Disneyland pullover shirt with the Haunted Mansion Holiday design, the return of the seasonal overlay for the beloved dark ride is anticipated around late August. The parks will continue with the tradition of decorating for the season with the massive Mickey Mouse jack-o-lantern and the Headless Horseman statue adding to the ghostly ambiance.

For those wary of the R-rated scares of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights or Knott’s Scary Farm, Disneyland ensures a family-friendly alternative with strictly G-rated spooky fun. Highlights of the Oogie Boogie Bash traditionally include a Halloween parade, Disney villains walk-through, and trick-or-treating trails with villainous characters.
