A pregnant woman is battling for her life after being shot by teenage car burglars in San Antonio. According to Fox San Antonio, the 32-year-old, who is over six months pregnant, was the unintended victim of gunfire last Thursday night. The incident occurred at the Francis J. Furey apartments located off Gus Eckert Rd, near Fredericksburg Rd.

The victim remains in the hospital, "It happened so fast," neighbor Sylvia Vasquez said, recalling the chaos which ensued after the pregnant woman caught the teens in the act. "And she tells me, 'Did you see that red car? They're trying to break into cars. Just be careful, lock your cars." the victim told Vasquez moments before the shooting took place. According to police, the suspects are young teenagers, confirmed by Vasquez, who added,  "Yeah, teenage boys. I saw them carrying their weapon, and I froze."

The San Antonio police have yet to make an arrest as they continue to investigate the ruthless shooting. In the meantime, the community is reeling from the shock of the event, which disrupted the tranquility of what was considered a peaceful neighborhood. "It's caught everybody off guard," Vasquez stated, overwhelmed by the sudden burst of violence. "It's peaceful here, and then for that to just happen, it happened so fast."

The fiancé of the wounded woman took to Facebook with a heart-wrenching appeal. "She's 25 weeks pregnant," he wrote, highlighting the gravity of the situation."Pains me to see that she was fighting for her life while I was doing everything in my power to keep her alive til the ambulance arrived. Please, I'm asking everyone, keep her and our baby girl in your prayers to overcome this. It's truly a miracle that she's still breathing and our baby girl. God is good."
