A 54-year-old man found himself in handcuffs following a disturbing encounter at the Dartmouth Carnival over the weekend, where he was charged with getting handsy with a young woman. The suspect, identified as Jeffrey Lehman of Fall River, now faces charges of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over and accosting/annoying another person, as detailed by Dartmouth police in a Facebook post and reported by MassLive.

The case unfolded Saturday night when Lehman allegedly began to tail a teenage girl and her friend, eventually moving on to make unsolicited physical contact. The situation escalated, and then the girl found herself on the receiving end of Lehman's inappropriate advances, which included both lewd comments and him slipping money down her shirt, according to police statements. Fellow carnival-goers, catching on to the disturbance, stepped in and formed a barrier to shield the girl, a move which paved the way for police to swoop in.
