High-Speed Chase Through Apple Valley Leads to Arrest of Victorville Man for Felony EvadingSource: Facebook/Apple Valley Police Department

The high-speed drama unfolded in Apple Valley as deputies clamped down on a suspicious vehicle, leading to a dramatic chase and an arrest for felony evading. Early on the morning of May 1, the Apple Valley Police were alerted to a car left idling overnight on Itasca Road. The call turned serious when the occupant, identified as 27-year-old Maurice Bowman of Victorville, hammered the gas instead of complying with the officer's request to exit and talk.

Deputies McCarter and Ramires, who had arrived at the scene to investigate, found themselves in hot pursuit as Bowman led them on a high-octane chase. According to a release posted on Nixle, the suspect ripped through the streets, "at times reaching speeds of over 100 mph."

It all came to a crashing halt near Rock Springs and Glendale Roads, where Bowman's getaway bid ended against a vehicle accident. Bowman was shortly hauled off to West Valley Detention Center, after a routine medical checkup revealing no injuries.

The deputies soon discovered a festering felony warrant from Riverside County waiting for him, adding to his charges. Despite the pileup of charges, Bowman found his way out on bail for both the existing warrant and the evasion case. Officials are now appealing to the public eye for any further details on the incident, urging tipsters to come forward and reach out to Deputy McCarter at the Apple Valley Sheriff's Station or to remain anonymous via the We-Tip Hotline.
