Houston Police Seek Public's Help to Identify Suspects in April 18 Homicide on Sunbury StreetSource: Houston Police Department

Houston detectives are on the hunt for two male suspects captured on surveillance footage in connection with the shooting death of a local man last month. The Houston Police Department publicly circulated the images yesterday, appealing to anyone with information to step forward in the wake of the April 18 homicide at 7959 Sunbury Street.

The slain victim, identified as 40-year-old Quincy Johnson, was reportedly standing on his balcony around 7:10 p.m. when, according to witnesses, the two men walked by and opened fire. Wearing a red hoodie and the other clad in a gray hoodie, the assailants fled the scene. Last seen in a green Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, the suspects have yet to be named.

"HPD patrol officers found the victim unresponsive in his apartment," reported Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective K. Stringer of the HPD Homicide Division. According to their statement on the city's news site. After responding to the shooting call, the Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Johnson dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.

Through further investigation, authorities developed the suspects' descriptions found from the scene's evidence. In an effort to solve this case, the HPD has encouraged the public's involvement, soliciting tips that could lead to identifying and apprehending the perpetrators. With scant details on the individual suspects, the probe has so far hinged on grainy pictures and eyewitness accounts.

Anyone holding crucial information is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS, ensuring that those who step forward to aid in the investigation can do so without fear.
