A man is left fighting for his life following a daylight shooting in Westwood, as Memphis police initiate a manhunt for three suspects. The incident occurred Monday at around 4:25 p.m. on the 800 block of Pawnee Avenue. According to WREG, officers arrived at the scene to discover a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound; he was rapidly transported to Regional One Hospital in a critical state.

In a statement obtained by Action News 5, police said the three suspects, all men, managed to flee the area before law enforcement arrived and are now subjects of a widespread search. Individuals with knowledge of the crime are being urged to provide any information that could lead to apprehension and are encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH, the perpetrators remain at large.

The Memphis Police Department continues to piece together the scant details of the brazen afternoon shooting, sifting through evidence and possible leads. As reported by FOX13 Memphis, the suspects fled on foot.
