Friday, forecast promises more showers and a possible continuance of thunderstorms, with an 80 percent chance of rain and high temperatures cooling slightly to 78 degrees. Winds are set to take a turn from the south to the northwest as the morning progresses. More rainfall, in the order of a quarter to half an inch, is likely to add to the growing puddles.

The unsettled weather continues into the weekend as Saturday has a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. During the day, residents can expect partly sunny conditions with highs pushing back up to 83 degrees. Rainfall amounts should be less, except potentially higher in thunderstorms. That pattern of scattered showers and thunderstorms sticks around through the night and into Sunday with a 70 percent chance of precipitation during the day.

Looking ahead into next week, the forecast, as posted on NWS website, indicates a continued mix of sun and storm. Monday and Tuesday both have a 50 percent chance of rain during the day, which dips to 20 percent at night. True to form for Memphis spring, the mercury will hover in the mid-80s throughout the week, with Wednesday forecast to be mostly sunny.
