Monroe Man Charged in Armed Robbery Held on $500K Bond, Toledo SWAT Assists CaptureSource: Monroe County Sheriff's Office

A Monroe man was slapped with a hefty $500,000 bond after being charged with the armed robbery of a local liquor store, officials stated. Anthony Lee Cline, 32, appeared in court yesterday, following his apprehension by a Toledo police SWAT unit on charges of robbing the Ida Party Stop in Ida Township.

Allegedly donning a facemask, overalls and gloves, Cline is accused of entering the store on April 27, intimating having a weapon and demanding money from a store worker before fleeing in a vehicle, according to the Detroit News. The store employee complied, and the suspect made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office identified Cline as the suspect after utilizing FLOCK license plate reader technology, which helped law enforcement track the getaway vehicle to Toledo. "After talking with numerous witnesses and utilizing FLOCK license plate reader technology, investigators identified the license plate on the vehicle," as reported by WTVG.

Upon discovering the vehicle's location, Monroe County Prosecutor's Office issued the felony warrant on Tuesday, leading to his eventual arrest with Toledo SWAT's assistance and Cline's subsequent incarceration in the Lucas County Jail. According to WTOL, Judge Amanda Eicher enforced a $500,000 bond and a GPS lockdown tether at Cline's arraignment.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has urged anyone with more information to come forward and contact Detective Kenneth Dodds at (734) 240-7537. The community is still grappling with the aftermath of the brazen daylight robbery, as police continue to investigate.
