Authorities report that Jason Daniel, 38, brandished a shotgun at his parents, firing it into the ceiling of their Omega Lane home during a heated altercation.

A statement from the City of Oakley Local Government detailed the grim timeline: Daniel, amid the scuffle with both of his parents, attempted to shoot his father but missed. His father, in a struggle for survival, stabbed his son multiple times to halt the attack. In an astonishing moment of bravery, Daniel's mother disarmed her son, ending the violent episode.
