"Chance of precipitation is 100%," asserts NWS Portland, signaling that drying out isn't in the forecast. That pattern will continue into the evening, with showers and a potential thunderstorm before giving way to clearer skies later in the week.

However, patience should pay off for those yearning for the sun, with the latter half of the week showing promise. After Tuesday's chance of thunderstorms, NWS predicts a gradual clearing. Wednesday is pegged to be partly sunny with a high near 62. Thursday and Friday offer a sunny reprieve, promising highs of 74 and 82 degrees, respectively, signaling an end to the relentless rain for Portlanders.
