Chaos erupted in the quiet hours of an early May morning when Campbell Police Department officers were called to a scene that residents will hardly forget soon. Lawlessness ruled momentarily at 256 E. Hamilton Avenue, as officers faced off with seven men who had allegedly turned a parking lot into their private bacchanalia, complete with gunshots and a heap of beer bottles. The incident, which took place on May 6 at 2:17 AM, came to light when multiple complaints from local residents prompted a police response.

The officers who arrived on the scene were met with defiance and disorder. The CPD report, later detailed in a statement, described how an officer attempted to peacefully engage with the individuals.
