History buffs and families looking to explore Minnesota's past can mark their calendars, for the Dakota County Historical Society has announced the seasonal opening of its historic sites beginning this May. The LeDuc Historic Estate and the Sibley Historic Site are set to welcome guests, with the former swinging open its doors on Thursday, May 16, and the latter following suit on Friday, May 24.

According to the Dakota County Historical Society's announcement, the organization has set the admission prices, where adults are set back $10, seniors enjoy a discounted rate of $8, and students aged 5–17 can get in for $6. Not to be left out, children four years and younger can experience the tours for free. These rates aren't a hole in the wallet, inviting members of all ages for a dive into the local heritage.

The historical society suggests making reservations in advance as space for the tours is limited. This bit of advice comes in handy for those who plan their outings down to the minute. Members of the Dakota County Historical Society can also take advantage of complimentary general tour admissions, hitting the sweet spot for enthusiasts who partake regularly in such events.

Located at 1629 Vermillion St. in Hastings, the LeDuc Estate is poised to offer tours from Thursdays through Sundays, with the tours kicking off times throughout the day starting at 10 a.m. and ending with the last tour at 4 p.m. Each expert-guided tour is expected to last an hour. Meanwhile, over at 1357 Sibley Memorial Highway in Mendota, the Sibley Site will open its doors for visitors on Fridays through Sundays, with a similar scheduling format for all interested parties.
