Two young boys were rushed to the hospital following a shooting incident in downtown Memphis, according to the Memphis Police Department. The victims, aged 14 and 17, were found wounded on Wednesday night near Vance Avenue after officers responded to a call around 7:45 p.m.

The shooting, leaving the older boy shot in the leg and the younger in the arm, took place in the 500 block of Vance Ave., as reported by Local Memphis. Initially listed in critical condition, the more seriously injured of the pair was later updated to a non-critical status following treatment at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.

Surveillance footage from the scene captured the assailants, two individuals on scooters, firing at the victims before fleeing south on Ratliff Lane. The Memphis police later found 18 shell casings scattered around the area, with one stray bullet striking the bedroom of a nearby residence, per FOX13 Memphis.

Dealing with juveniles in non-critical condition, both patients received prompt medical care as police continued to investigate the violent outbreak.
