It was a scene of chaos in downtown Seattle Monday when a woman was arrested after allegedly slashing a man with a knife in his own residence. The incident, which took place in the 500 block of 3rd Avenue, resulted in a 64-year-old man suffering a significant injury to his face, according to Seattle police.

Responding to a 911 call around 11:10 a.m., officers found the male victim with a severe laceration to his left cheek. The Seattle Police reported that he was inside of his residence during the unexpected attack by an adult female intruder. The victim, after being assaulted, was left behind by the suspect who escaped the scene before authorities arrived.

Paramedics from the Seattle Fire Department provided on-site treatment before the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center, later confirmed to be in stable condition. The 34-year-old female suspect didn't manage to evade law enforcement for long, as she was apprehended a brief distance from the crime scene. Seattle Police Department stated that she was arrested on charges of Burglary in the 1st Degree and officers seized the weapon that allegedly was used in the assault.

Booked into King County Jail, the suspect awaits criminal prosecution while detectives from the General Investigations Unit take over the case.
