Here’s a look at recently reported crimes in SFPD's Bayview District, which includes Potrero Hill, Dogpatch, Portola, Bayview and Hunters Point.

Unless otherwise noted, all information comes from the department's daily crime recaps.

Arson in Dogpatch outside commercial Building

On April 16 at 11:35pm on the 800th block of Marin Street, SFPD responded to a fire outside of a commercial building. SFFD was successful in extinguishing the fire and reported minor damage to the sidewalk and trash cans.

Armed man robs couple taking photos

An armed man in his twenties stole a camera by force on April 16 near the intersection of Crystal Cove Terrace and Candlestick Cove Way in the Bayview district.

In the incident, which took place around 3:45pm, the robber approached a 64-year-old man and his female companion, brandished a handgun, and snatched a camera that was around the victim's neck before fleeing the scene.

Duo beats, robs man of cell phone

On April 10th at 6:50pm on the intersection of Quesada Avenue and Lane Street, a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy approached a 45-year-old man from behind and started punching him.

The victim fell to the ground while the teen kept punching him. The other suspect took the victim's phone and both fled southbound on Lane Street.

Hit-and-run leaves woman in critical condition

On April 8th at 2:15am, a 50-year-old woman was walking near the intersection of San Bruno Avenue and Woolsey Street when she was struck by a car. She was found at the scene and transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Man robs woman of purse at intersection

On April 5th at 4:40pm, a 37-year-old woman was walking near the intersection of Newhall and Fairfax Avenues when a man in his twenties approached her with his hand in his pocket.

Once he was near, he began to tug on her purse while the other hand was still in his pocket. The woman gave up her purse out of fear and the man fled northbound on Newhall Avenue.

Verbal altercation escalates to stabbing

On March 23rd at 6:46am on the 1500 block of Davidson Avenue, a 40-year-old man got into a verbal altercation with a 37-year-old man before stabbing him and fleeing in a car.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the suspect was not arrested.

Man discovers home intruder

On March 22nd at 1pm on the unit block of Somerset Street, a 66-year-old man was at home when he heard a door open. Upon getting up to investigate, he locked eyes with a trespasser who fled the house while kicking out a side door, but the suspect did not steal any property.

Pedestrian stabs man riding bicycle

On March 22nd at 9:00am near the intersection of Jerrold Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard, a 35-year-old man was riding his bike on a sidewalk and stopped when a man in his mid-twenties blocked his path.

The man rode his bike around the pedestrian who pulled out a pair of scissors and stabbed him. The victim suffered non-life threatening wounds, and no arrest was made.
