A woman was arrested in the Mission district yesterday afternoon after she allegedly carjacked a driver and injured a pedestrian in a subsequent hit-and-run.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. at a Foods Co market at 1800 Folsom St. when a 26-year-old female suspect hit a 40-year-old woman with a length of pipe and stole her car. As the suspect was driving the vehicle, she reportedly struck a 47-year-old man.

Police arrested the suspect, and both victims were transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Although police have a suspect in custody, anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.

Here’s why we usually don’t include suspect descriptions in crime reports.
