Here are some notable incidents that have taken place since our last biweekly recap covering SFPD's Central District, which encompasses Chinatown, Financial District, Embarcadero, Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills, North Beach, and Union Square. 

Unless otherwise noted, all reports are drawn from the department's daily summary.

Suspect pickpockets man while walking

On May 5 at 5:50 p.m. near the intersection of Market and Drumm Streets in the Financial District, a 49-year-old man was robbed by a male suspect in his 30s or early 40s. 

The victim was walking with his mobile phone in his hand when the suspect bumped into him and snatched the device. The suspect then reached into the victim's pocket, stole his wallet and then fled the scene on foot. 

Pedestrian struck by vehicle entering into garage

A 61-year-old driver was arrested on May 5 at 6 p.m. after injuring a 38-year-old man in the driveway of a parking garage in Jackson Square. 

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police subsequently took the driver into custody, though it's not clear from reports what the charges were. 

Two men shove, rob woman

On May 2 at 1 a.m. in Union Square, a 41-year-old woman was pushed and robbed by two unknown male suspects. 

According to police, the suspects snatched the victim's purse while she was on the ground and fled the scene in an unknown direction with the victim's phone and wallet. 

Suspect allegedly strikes woman with lumber

In North Beach near the corner of Jack Kerouac Alley and Grant Avenue on April 30 at 2:10 a.m., a 33-year-old woman was assaulted. 

During the incident, the victim and a 40-year-old man were engaged in an argument before he reportedly hit her with a piece of wood. The woman was subsequently transported to an area hospital for treatment of her non-life-threatening injuries. No arrest has been made. 

Teen arrested after snatching cell phone

On April 23 at 10:10 a.m. near the corner of Ice House Alley and Green Street in North Beach, a 17-year-old girl was arrested for robbery after stealing a woman's mobile phone. 

A 43-year-old woman was walking when the suspect allegedly snatched a cell phone from her hand. The victim gave chase and the suspect punched her, but officers apprehended the suspect. 

While the victim sustained minor injuries, she refused transport to a hospital for treatment. The phone was recovered and returned to the victim. 

Suspect in stabbing incident arrested

A 45-year-old man was arrested in a stabbing on April 23 at 7:25 p.m. on the 1000 block of Powell Street in Chinatown. 

The victim, a 54-year-old man, and the suspect got into an argument that subsequently led to the attack. 

Police located the suspect and took him into custody. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. 

Suspect arrested in Fisherman's Wharf stabbing

Later that same day at 8:07 p.m. on the 300 block of Jefferson Street in Fisherman's Wharf, a 38-year-old man was also stabbed. 

According to reports, the victim was walking when he "felt a knife blade on him." The suspect, a 51-year-old man, fled the scene but was later arrested by police. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 

Man pushed to the ground and robbed

On April 21 just before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Pine and Leidesdorff Streets in the FiDi, a 26-year-old man was robbed by three male suspects in their 20s. 

The victim was walking when the three individuals approached him, pushed him to the ground, and stole his wallet and mobile phone. 

While the victim suffered minor injuries in the incident, he refused treatment. No arrests have been made. 

Three teens rob man of his cell phone while walking

Lastly, at 6:36 p.m. April 20 on the 400 block of Battery Street, also in the FiDi, a 51-year-old man was robbed by three unknown teens 15–18-years-old. 

The three male suspects approached the victim from behind, pushed him to the ground and stole his cell phone. The suspects then fled the scene on foot westbound on Merchant Street by way of Battery Street. No injuries or arrests were reported.
