Early yesterday morning in the Bayview district, police apprehended a suspect in a shooting who was allegedly in possession of multiple firearms.

Officers responded to a report of a possible shooting on the 1600 block of Donner Avenue just after 5:00 a.m.

After entering a building in the area — a block of warehouses and light industrial companies — they discovered a 30-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds who was transported to a hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

A short time later, police located the suspect, a 41-year-old male, and seized guns that were reportedly in his possession.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.

Here’s why we usually don’t include suspect descriptions in crime reports.
