Here's our update on the latest in crime news from the Richmond District.

In this month's newsletter, SFPD Richmond Station's Captain Michelle Jean reminds locals to be cautious about securing any construction sites on or near their property.

"Construction sites are targets for burglars," she writes. "Tools and supplies are sometimes left at the site unattended or unsecured ... Secure all equipment and vehicles at all times, [and] consider the use of security systems and locking fencing."

Jean also encourages locals to attend the station's National Night Out event, which will be held this coming Tuesday, August 7 at station headquarters (461 6th Ave.), from 4-7 p.m.

"We have a lot of fun activities, including face painting, a jumpy house, food, a fire truck, a canine officer, mounted police, and much more," she writes. "We hope to see you all there."

Now, it's on to a recap of the latest crimes to occur in the neighborhood. All information comes directly from the SFPD's daily crime recaps, unless otherwise noted.
