A 19-year-old man was attacked by a trio of robbers aboard a Muni bus in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. 

According to police, the incident occurred at 9th and Mission streets around 1:40 a.m. The victim was using his phone aboard the bus when he was approached by three male suspects in their twenties, who grabbed it.

As the victim fought to reclaim his phone, one of the suspects punched him in the face. He subsequently fell to the floor of the bus, and the suspects began kicking him.

Officers arrived at the scene and were able to arrest two of the suspects. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and his phone was returned to him.
