Here's a selection of crimes that have occurred in Hayes Valley and the Western Addition since our last roundup in early October. All reports were provided by SFPD, unless otherwise noted.

Assault leads to stolen clothing, money

On October 31, a 20-year-old man assaulted a 19-year-old man on the 300 block of Octavia Street around 1 a.m. The suspect took clothing and money from the victim before fleeing. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shooting victim walks into hospital

Officers responded to a shotspotter activation on October 20 at 6:50 p.m. and located shell casings at Golden Gate Avenue and Webster Street. A 25-year-old man later walked into a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound related to the location.

Clothes set on fire

A 30-year-old man burned a pile of clothes on the 700 block of Buchanan Street on October 22 around 10 p.m. He also set an exterior fence on fire, and was arrested on the scene.

Cellphone stolen out of pocket

On October 17, a man between 17 and 21 years of age grabbed a 45-year-old man's jacket while walking at Fillmore and Eddy streets. The younger man then took the victim's cellphone out of his pocket and fled. The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m.

Hot prowl burglary while victim was asleep

A man, 41, woke up in his home on the 500 block of Page Street on October 17 at 9 a.m., and noticed that a game console as well as a laptop with its charger had been stolen overnight. 

Northern Station monthly community meeting

Residents interested in learning more about crime and safety in the district are invited to attend Northern Station's community meetings, held at the station (1125 Fillmore St.) at 6 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.
