A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver near the intersection of Bush and Leavenworth streets early this morning.

[Update, 9:00 a.m. December 19th] SFPD's Traffic Collision Investigative Unit has determined the suspect vehicle is a dark colored 2007 or 2008 Honda Fit. Employees of auto repair and body shops in the area are being asked to report any customers seeking repairs on similar vehicles. 

SFPD on December 12th released surveillance footage of the suspect and the vehicle, and are seeking public assistance in identifying the suspect, who is still at large. 

[Update, 10:15 a.m.] The victim, a 58-year-old San Francisco resident, died of her injuries at San Francisco General Hospital earlier this morning, the SFPD has confirmed.

According to the department, the woman was crossing the street around 3:25 a.m. when she was struck by a driver in a dark colored vehicle, which fled the scene.

The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and her current condition is unknown at this time. SFPD has inquired with the hospital about the victim's condition and is awaiting an update.
