A one-alarm fire broke out in an apartment building at 1427 Larkin St. (at California) on Sunday afternoon at 4:18 p.m.

According to the San Francisco Fire Department, the blaze displaced nine adults, but none were injured. The SFFD said on Twitter that one of the residents' cats died during the incident.

SFFD was able to contain the fire at 4:33 p.m., 15 minutes after it was first reported.

The Red Cross will assist residents who are not able to return to their homes.

SFFD is still investigating the cause of the blaze, officials said on Sunday.
