Two women accused of vandalizing a Polk Street eatery during the annual SantaCon festivities on Saturday have turned themselves in, the San Francisco Police Department announced Tuesday evening.

San Francisco resident Natalie Alcantar, 21, was booked at the San Francisco County Jail with charges of felony vandalism, and 21-year-old Hannah Baughman from Pacifica was booked on felony vandalism and battery charges.

Booking photos of the suspects were not available as of press time.

The women surrendered at the Northern Police Station after seeing video footage of the incident published by local media outlets, according to SFPD spokesperson Officer Joseph Tomlinson.

Police officers were flagged down outside the Shalimar restaurant at 1409 Polk St. at approximately 6:47 p.m. and responded to reports of vandalism at the restaurant.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to an employee who said that two women entered the restaurant and appeared intoxicated. One of the suspects told the employee that she had paid for food but had not received it.

As we reported yesterday, Shalimar cook Alejo Cano Chan told KTVU that this was not the case.

"She says, 'Give me my food.' We say, 'You didn't order any food, show us the receipt, and if you have the receipt, we can give you the food.' But no receipt," he said.

Officer Tomlinson added that the employee then refused her service "because she was too intoxicated."

The first suspect became angry and allegedly knocked over items on the counter, including the cash register, which video shared on social media shows broken on the floor.

The unnamed employee in the police report attempted to intervene, and the woman allegedly punched him in the face. The employee fled the area as the suspect continued to trash the restaurant.

Meanwhile, the second suspect can be seen in video footage just outside, taking a chair and repeatedly smashing the front door glass until it shatters and walks away.
