It's time for another look at notable crimes in the Tenderloin since our last roundup. All details of the Tenderloin Station’s activities come directly from SFPD reports, unless otherwise noted. 

Stabbing suspect arrested

A 44-year-old man was arrested on December 9th after stabbing a 36-year-old man on the 200 block of Jones Street (near Turk) around 5:30 a.m. The suspect walked across the street after stabbing the victim, but SFPD arrived and took him into custody. The victim was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Samurai sword assailant arrested

Around 5:02 a.m. on December 6th, three people were injured by a man swinging a samurai sword on the 400 block of Eddy Street (near Leavenworth). Two men, ages 24 and 25, were standing outside  with one 23-year-old woman when the 47-year-old suspect started yelling out of his window. The suspect then came outside swinging a samurai sword and injured all three victims, who were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital. The suspect was arrested.

Man loses cellphone in two-on-one attack

Around 1:45 a.m. on December 3rd, a 55-year-old man was approached by two men, one said to be 20 and one 30 years old, near the intersection of Mason and Eddy streets. The younger suspect slapped the victim’s cellphone out of his hands, and the victim was punched in the face by one of the suspects. No arrests have been made.

Man robbed of phone at knifepoint 

A man said to be between 26 and 30 years old approached a 16-year-old male in Hallide Plaza around 10:36 p.m. on December 2nd, brandished a knife, and demanded the victim’s cellphone. The victim handed over his phone and the suspect fled on foot. 

Man assaulted, robbed by three suspects

At 9:45 p.m. on December 2nd, a 46-year-old man was assaulted by two men, said to be between 18 and 23 years old, near the intersection of Turk and Market streets. A 35-year-old woman was also at the scene. The suspects fled with the victim’s wallet and cellphone and have not been identified. 

Argument leads to box cutter attack

A 48-year-old man was walking on the 1000 block of Market Street (near Taylor) around 9 p.m. on December 2nd when he started fighting with an unknown man. The suspect pulled out a box cutter and cut the victim before fleeing on foot westbound on Market Street.

Man robbed while exiting vehicle

Around 3:30 p.m. on November 30th, a 25-year-old man exiting his vehicle on the 100 block of Turk Street (near Jones) was approached by two men said to be 26 years old, one of which pulled a knife on the victim. The other suspect searched the victim’s pockets and stole his cash and drivers license. A female, said to be 24 years old, also on the scene fled with the two male suspects, and none of the three have been identified.

Argument escalates into stabbing with unknown object

A 29-year-old man and a man said to be 20 years old got into a verbal argument near the intersection of Geary and Jones streets around 9:30 p.m. on November 30th. As the older man was walking away, he felt a sharp object injure him and was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. No arrest has been made. 

Woman shoved, robbed by unknown suspect

Around 3 a.m. on November 30th, a man said to be in his early 30s reported that an unknown suspect assaulted and robbed his friend in UN Plaza, near the intersection of Market and 7th streets. The suspect allegedly shoved the woman and stole her purse, including her phone, wallet, drivers license and personal documents. 

Woman robbed of Cyber Monday scores

A 32-year-old woman was walking near the intersection of Sutter and Stockton streets around 12:15 p.m. on November 26th when an unknown suspect ran up to her, grabbed her bag full of electronics and fled in a vehicle. 

Woman tripped in two-on-one robbery

Just before 9 p.m. on November 23rd, a 22-year-old woman was approached from behind by two men near the intersection of O’Farrell and Taylor streets. One of the suspects grabbed her phone while the other tripped the woman. Both suspects then fled in an unknown direction. 

Man tackled after argument with unknown suspect

An argument between two men escalated into an assault near the intersection of Jones and Market streets around 6:10 p.m. on November 23rd. A 49-year-old man and a man said to be 40 years old were arguing when the 40-year-old tackled and injured the victim. The unidentified suspect fled and remains at large.

Woman arrested after stealing phone

Around 6:18 p.m. on November 22nd, a 59-year-old woman grabbed a 42-year-old woman’s phone near the intersection of 7th and Market streets. The two women struggled over the phone before SFPD arrived and arrested the suspect. 

Man attacked with plastic chair

A 27-year-old man was assaulted with a plastic chair by an unidentified suspect on the 700 block of Market Street (near Kearny) around 1:30 p.m. on November 21st. The suspect, said to be in his 40s, was sitting outside of a business when a 27-year-old man went outside. The suspect became aggressive and hit the victim with a plastic chair before fleeing on foot. No property losses or arrests were reported.
