14 adults, seven children, and a one dog were displaced after a multi-unit apartment building caught fire in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
The two-alarm blaze at 1555/1557/1559/1561 Innes Ave. (at 3rd St.) started around 4:04 a.m., the San Francisco Fire Department said. Firefighters arrived at the scene to discover the blaze had extended to adjacent structures.
They searched all the affected buildings, ensuring all the residents had evacuated and that no one was injured. The fire was contained about 50 minutes later.

District 10 Supervisor Shamann Walton thanked firefighters on Twitter, praising their speedy "response [that] was once again the reason lives were saved."
Officials said that the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Red Cross and city services have been enlisted to assist those who were unable to return to their homes.
