Mare Island's Founders Day Festival returns for another year of memorable experiences, providing history enthusiasts and families alike with an opportunity to explore the lasting legacy of this historic location.

From September 14 through 16, attendees will be able to participate in a variety of events designed to entertain and inform. One such event, the impactful "Standing Together" Speaker Series, highlights the resilience and strength of the Mare Island community, according to The City of Vallejo's FB post. The series is followed by an exclusive "Behind the Fences" Bus Tour, providing a fresh perspective of this storied location.

For those who prefer to chart their own path, the weekend also offers free "Open Island" Self-Guided Walking Tours, perfect for delving deeper into Mare Island's fascinating past. All these events culminate in the main event—the Family Festival at the Admiral's Mansion on Saturday, September 16 from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Designed for all ages, the Family Festival features an array of activities to keep everyone entertained. Children will be thrilled by the bounce house and face painting, while adults can enjoy beer and wine for sale. Attendees will also have an opportunity to partake in a silent auction, a raffle, history exhibits, and an unforgettable mainstage musical performance.

Tickets for the event are reasonably priced at $10 for advance purchase, or $15 at the door. Foundation members can enjoy a $5 discount, and all proceeds from ticket sales, the silent auction, and the raffle will go towards supporting the Foundation's efforts to preserve and promote Mare Island's historical legacy.
