The immediate forecast suggests a 20 percent chance of showers overnight, but that's just the prelude to an otherwise mostly dry and partly sunny end to the week. Friday's outlook promises a high of 61 degrees, with a calm northeast breeze. Saturday and Sunday are shaping up to deliver sunny skies and highs in the mid-60s, an ideal setup for weekend plans.

Entering into next week, Portlanders can expect the good fortune to continue with more sunshine and even a climb to 70 degrees on Tuesday. However, keep your umbrellas close because there's "a slight chance of rain" that night, as per the National Weather Service.

Midweek forecasts take a notably chillier turn, with Wednesday ushering rain and a high dipping down to 55 degrees. Come Thursday, showers are likely, and snow levels plummet to a shivering 1400 feet before noon.
