Fort Worth is tuning up for a summer of sizzling live performances as the city's Public Library kicks off its "Amped Up Music Tour." According to the City of Fort Worth, the series of free concerts will take the stage at various locales from May through August, welcoming fans of country swing, R&B, rock/pop, and more.

Music librarian Rita Alfaro beckons the community to join in on the fun, "Bring a friend. Invite the family. Make it a date night." The tour is billing itself as an all-ages affair that shines a spotlight on the area's homegrown talent, featuring groups like the Western Flyers, Igimèjí, and Court Hoang, alongside artists from the Amplify 817 program, as per the City of Fort Worth.

The tour will rev up with the Western Flyers laying down their country/swing grooves at Burnett Park on May 2nd. Igimèjí is slated to serve up their R&B stylings at East Regional Library on June 22nd, followed by rock/pop aficionado Court Hoang at Summerglen Library on July 27th. The grand finale, the Amplify 817 Showcase, promises an electrifying array of local musicians at Fort Brewery & Pizza come August 17th.

"We are so excited to showcase such an important aspect of Fort Worth’s culture - music being created right here," Library Director Midori Clark said, per the City of Fort Worth. Certainly, music enthusiasts will find ample opportunity to indulge in the rich tapestry of sounds that Fort Worth has to offer throughout the sun-drenched months.
