Houston Police Arrest 25-Year-Old in Connection with 2021 Fatal Shooting on Lockcrest StreetSource: City of Houston

Law enforcement officials in Houston have confirmed the arrest of a 25-year-old man, Corey Hamilton, who now faces murder charges for a deadly shooting that occurred back in July 2021. According to city officials, the shooting took place at 3198 Lockcrest Street and left 56-year-old Norris Rose fatally injured.

Details surrounding the arrest reveal that police officers were initially called to the scene over reports of a vehicle crash. It was upon their arrival, that they discovered the driver had been shot multiple times. The Houston Fire Department later transported Rose to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on December 28, 2022. At the time of the initial investigation, the motive was unclear, and no suspects were identified.

However, the combined efforts of the HPD Homicide Division, under the guidance of Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective M. Hughey, eventually led to the identification of Hamilton as the suspect. Their investigation, bolstered by witness statements and evidence, singled out Hamilton, who was thereafter apprehended on April 26 without incident.

Now, with the accused in custody, the Harris County Jail has become his temporary residence until he answers to his charges in the 248th State District Court.
