Lewisville Police Department Welcomes New Assistant Chief from Arlington's RanksSource: Lewisville Police Department

Brook Rollins, the Police Chief of Lewisville, has named a new sidekick in the battle against crime in this Texas town - Arlington's own Lieutenant Donald Fulbright steps into the role of Assistant Chief of Police. Fulbright fills the boots left by former Assistant Chief Chris Clements following his retirement earlier this year, according to the City of Lewisville, Texas.

Tapped for his impressive 22-year stint with the Arlington Police Department, Fulbright is no stranger to the demands of law enforcement. He has been a Patrol Officer, Accident Investigator, and wearing many other hats - including leading the SWAT/Fugitive Unit. In his current assignment which oversees fugitive apprehension and tactical operations, Fulbright is bringing a truckload of experience to the table which Chief Rollins hopes will serve the Lewisville Police Department (LPD) well. "The atmosphere of teamwork, communication, and transparency within LPD are values that I also hold close to my heart," Fulbright said, according to the City of Lewisville, Texas.

Flaunting a scholarly side too, Fulbright has degrees up his sleeve, bagging a Bachelor of Science from Tarleton State University, a Master of Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington, and an array of law enforcement training under his belt, like the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association Trilogy program. He's not just been patrolling streets and supervising squads; Fulbright also clocked time as a resident Fellow with The International Association of Chiefs of Police, advising on everything from traffic management in Africa and South America to advocating for mental health and officer safety.

According to the City of Lewisville, Texas, Chief Rollins highlighted that "His strategic, operational, and relational expertise were qualities that stuck out during the interview process, but most noteworthy was his passion for caring for his employees as if they were his own family." A veritable jack-of-all-trades, Fulbright seems to be the man LPD was searching for, someone as at ease with policy as with people, Fulbright's slated to start his new gig come June 5, taking the reins of the Patrol Bureau.

While not chasing perps or strategizing for community safety, Fulbright spends time as a regular Joe with his wife Megan, his high schooler son William, and sixth-grader daughter Betsy - the family that travels together and cheers from the bleachers together, living the quintessential American life.
