The city of Maple Grove is set to honor a local hero with a gleam of solidarity. Maple Grove Fire-Rescue Firefighter Mike Paidar, who died in the line of duty, will be commemorated with the rest of the nation's fallen firefighters during the Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters event. Scheduled from May 1 through 5, this tribute is part of a larger, national gesture coordinated by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to pay respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their communities according to the City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government.

As darkness folds on May 3 and until the first light of May 6, Maple Grove's Town Green is planned to be bathed in red light. The city has beckoned residents and business owners to join in cast their own crimson glow by lighting their properties red. The City of Maple Grove, MN - Local Government stated, "From sunset on May 3 through sunrise on May 6, our Town Green will be lit in red," and inviting community members to actively participate in the memorial.
