Memphis is tuning up for a deep dive into its musical roots with the Blues Foundation's upcoming Hologram Interactive exhibit, kicking off on May 8. This high-tech showstopper is the first of its kind in Tennessee and only the second in the United States that employs futuristic AI and hologram technology to create an "immersion" into the stories of blues music, as reported by FOX13 Memphis.

Visitors to the exhibit can expect an experience narrated by none other than Taj Mahal, the lauded 2009 Blues Hall of Fame inductee, who'll guide them through the history and cultural impact of the blues. The exhibit is looking to create a new narrative in how we absorb music history while ensuring you don't miss a beat—there's a $10 cover to get up close with these holographic melodies, according to details shared by Grateful Web. Museum hours will run from Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

The Blues Foundation stands as a guardian of the genre, boasting some 4,000 members globally and bridging connections to 180 blues societies worldwide. Established in 1980, the organization is dedicated to the preservation and celebration of blues music as well as its expansion into new audiences, reflecting the continuing journey of this quintessentially American music form.

"Narrator Studio, specializing in AI and Immersive experiences, has long awaited the opportunity to use Holographic and AI technologies to preserve the talent and legacy of a musical legend," Ari Palitz, a representative from Narrator Studio, voiced their enthusiasm, and the involvement of The Blues Foundation and Taj Mahal has transformed this passion project into a reality, Broadway World revealed. With this fusion of tech and treble clefs, the Foundation isn’t just striking a chord; it's setting the tone for how historical preservation marries modern innovation, and how it goes beyond a mere audio track, enabling patrons to see and almost feel the blues as they float through the annals of American music history.
