Miami-Dade is gearing up to become the epicenter of urban mobility innovation as it hosts a packed Mobility Week schedule featuring two high-profile conferences, each aimed at driving the discussion on the future of transportation. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and the Department of Transportation and Public Works are presenting this pivotal week from May 6 to 10, which includes CoMotion Miami and the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) Designing Cities Conference.
Mayor Levine Cava expressed excitement about the forthcoming events, telling Miami-Dade County, "Our partnership with CoMotion and the NACTO Designing Cities Conference exemplifies our commitment to embracing innovation and collaboration in shaping sustainable, accessible cities for all," the week promises to bring together a myriad of stakeholders from technologists to policymakers with the shared goal of fostering smarter urban living. CoMotion Miami kicks off the week with a two-day event focused on fostering dialogues between movers and shakers in the mobility domain, featuring interactive workshops, panels, and networking opportunities, it will be hosted at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus.
The following event, the Designing Cities Conference, spans from May 7 to 10 and is a globally recognized affair that puts the spotlight on urban planning and transportation advances, punctuating the strides Miami-Dade County has made under Mayor Levine Cava and DTPW Director and CEO, Eulois Cleckley's leadership. According to Miami-Dade County's announcement, the conference will be held at Intercontinental Miami with practical 'walkshops' peppered throughout the community to demonstrate Miami-Dade’s achievements firsthand, such as the notable USDOT grants for safety and innovation.
