The Oakland Police Department is in urgent need of help from locals and the press in tracking down 11-year-old Kassidy Wimberly. Declared at risk due to her age, the young girl has been missing since the evening of April 15, 2024. Concern has quickly mounted, with authorities distributing her description widely and asking for public vigilance.
Last seen around 9:30 pm, the missing child was wearing a black cropped jacket, a pink shirt, black leggings, and was without shoes. Wimberly is identified as a black female, 5’6” tall and weighing 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The Oakland Police Department, which released the details via a Nixle alert, mentioned that, Wimberly enjoys good mental and physical health according to her family.
The search effort is being coordinated by the OPD's Missing Persons Unit, which is leading the investigation and following up on all leads. The department has made a heartfelt plea, insisting that every single piece of information could prove crucial in bringing Kassidy back to her family.
