A heartbroken San Antonio family continues to search for answers in the unsolved murder of 17-year-old Kaitlin Hernandez, who was found dead under a bridge on the Northeast side in March. As investigators' leads have dried up, her relatives are making emotional appeals for witnesses to come forward.

The site where Kaitlin's body was discovered has since become a place of mourning, with multiple vigils, including one held on Friday night. Despite the recurring gatherings to honor the slain teenager, law enforcement efforts to crack an arrest in the case or provide a suspect description have so far been fruitless. "To let them know that we are still going to continue to be her voice and Kaitlin deserves justice. Yeah, they’ve been communicating with us so we haven’t had any luck in any witnesses coming forward, all the tips they have received have been non-credible, so they are working we know that they are working day and night," Kaitlin’s aunt Crystal Rodriguez told FOX San Antonio.

The police have questioned individuals but have not made any arrests, and it appears there are no fresh leads on Kaitlin's case. The high school senior was last seen alive taking a walk near her neighborhood before she was found dead. Her family describes Kaitlin as an aspiring veterinarian who was set to graduate from Roosevelt High School in a matter of weeks.

"Please, we are begging the person or people out there who know to come forward. It shouldn’t matter if Kaitlin has $5,000 or $50,000 on her reward. It’s about doing the right thing because God sees everything. We just want these people off the streets. Somebody saw something. Somebody knows something. Enough is enough it’s time," Rodriguez stated.

The impact of the tragedy echoes deeply among her family, who say the street where the vigil took place, a street they grew up on, will never be the same for them. Roosevelt High School has plans to honor the memory of Kaitlin, giving a solemn nod to the future that was stolen. However, as the police remain tight-lipped about ongoing investigations, Rodriguez and her family hold out hope that the community will step up to aid in the quest for closure and justice.
