Launched in 1891, the Battle of Flowers Parade has grown to be one of the nation's oldest and most significant parades, thanks to the Battle of Flowers® Association—an all-women squad dedicated to keeping the flame of tradition burning. This year's festivities included the time-honored ceremony of wreath hand-offs to San Antonio Academy students who proceeded to carefully place them on the Alamo's hallowed grounds, as stated on The Alamo's official website.

The historic route saw festive floats, enthusiastic duchesses, and even fire trucks, making their way past vibrant yellow construction equipment.
