A Troup County woman lost her life in a ghastly incident this weekend, as multiple rounds were fired into her home. Taneshia Bridges, 41, has been identified as the victim. She was pronounced dead after being transported to Wellstar West Georgia Emergency Department following the early-morning shooting, as per officials.

The Troup County Sheriff's Office disclosed that the shooting occurred just after 2 a.m. on Teaver Road. Deputies arrived on scene to find Bridges shot and struggling to breathe, she, unfortunately, did not survive the ordeal. A chilling detail sets the scene darker, as a child was reported to be inside at the time of the incident, adding a bleak layer to this already dark narrative. According to FOX5 Atlanta, there was another adult present in the home when the shooting took place.

The Sheriff's Office is combing through evidence after finding several shell casings outside the home, suggesting that shots were fired from outside the residence. There has been no arrest nor has a motive been firmly established. The presence of an additional adult and the child inside the home has added a perplexing angle to an already mystifying case. No information about their conditions or identities was immediately available.
