An Amber Alert was triggered early Wednesday for a 1-year-old boy reportedly taken by his father after a domestic altercation in West Covina, according to authorities. The California Highway Patrol disseminated the alert shortly before the clock struck 2 a.m.

Details emerged following a domestic violence call around 9 p.m. Tuesday on North Grand Avenue near Fairway Lane, the West Covina Police Department reported. The mother, assaulted in a car by Wesley Williams, the boy's father, sought escape and contacted the police for immediate assistance. Despite the tension and dread, she relayed Williams' threat to harm their son, Weston Landrum, before he left the scene with him. Williams, as per law enforcement, was not in possession of a firearm.

The public has been asked to look out for the missing child, described as a blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy last seen in camouflage pants and a gray, bunny-adorned shirt. His abductor, a 46-year-old Williams, was reportedly wearing a Hawaiian shirt and blue jeans and had a notable wing tattoo gracing his neck, ABC7 reported.

Williams was last spotted driving a 2014 white Toyota Tacoma, a California license plate reading 75001B3. While authorities confirmed that the parents originated from the L.A. area, no further specifics about their local ties were disclosed.
