The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago is gearing up for a cosmic voyage down memory lane, unveiling the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, which had its fair share of trips to the International Space Station. The Dragon will be the centerpiece of a revamped exhibit in the Henry Crown Space Center and is set to open its hatches to the public on May 19, as per The Chicago Tribune.

Since the beginning of the year, work has been carried out in the Henry Crown Space Center to prepare for the new addition. Alongside the Dragon capsule, the center houses significant artifacts from the golden age of space exploration, like the Apollo 8 Command Module and the Mercury Aurora 7 Capsule. Admission to the MSI and the Dragon exhibit comes with no extra charge attached, a welcome feature for space enthusiasts and museum-goers alike.

The flown SpaceX Dragon, designated C113, is acclaimed for its success in two cargo missions from 2017 to 2019. This Dragon comes with a history of high-stakes cosmic errands and MSI's commitment to keep the traces of its spaceflights and reentries evident for visitors. Chevy Humphrey, MSI President and CEO, declared in 2022, "We want to create an experience where people understand the wonder and curiosity of what went behind developing the SpaceX Dragon," according to Cosmic Chicago.
