Ellis County is rolling out a free tire disposal service for its residents, keeping the environment in mind. According to Ellis County, Texas, the event is set for early June and offers a way to properly dispose of old passenger tires. But, businesses, and tire companies need not apply – this service is strictly for personal use only.

Set for Friday, June 7th, and Saturday, June 8th, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., the disposal event allows residents to drop off up to 12 tires without rims. The drop-off location earmarked for this activity is 2278 FM 878 Waxahachie, Texas 75165, situated roughly a mile east of Highway 287. Truck or trailer tires, farm tractors, heavy equipment tires, and tires with dirt or water are strictly not accepted, ensuring the focus is on residential waste.

For those seeking more information or needing clarification on the tire disposal process, the Ellis County Fire Marshal’s Office is the point of contact. Deputy K. Hatcher can be reached at either 972-825-5555 or 972-825-5611 for questions about the event. This eco-friendly initiative is part of the county's ongoing efforts to maintain a green and clean environment and to prevent improper disposal of tires that can create breeding grounds for mosquitoes and other pests.
