A tragedy struck the quiet roads of Healdsburg yesterday afternoon as a vehicle veered off the highway, leaving its sole occupant dead, according to a statement from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) - Santa Rosa. The incident occurred just after 3:00 p.m. on southbound US-101, north of Westside Road. Emergency responders found a man behind the wheel of a Toyota Tacoma, which had tumbled down an embankment following an abrupt departure from the roadway. The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The CHP has initiated a preliminary investigation into the devastating incident. So far, it has been disclosed that the Toyota was moving in the right lane before it inexplicably drifted off course.
