A gunshot echoed through Scott Street, leading to charges against a 64-year-old man following a domestic shooting in Houston. The Houston Police Department said a woman was shot Tuesday night during a family altercation, and Anthony Hamm, the ex-husband, has been charged with aggravated assault.

The incident took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. at 11005 Scott Street, where the woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds. Still hospitalized, a photo of Hamm is not available for release. The woman, however, after being transported to an area hospital, is reportedly in stable condition.

Hamm, discovered by the police suffering from a medical issue at the scene, was later taken to Ben Taub General Hospital. "HPD Southeast Patrol Division officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She stated that her ex-husband, Hamm, came to her apartment and shot her," Detective S. De La Cruz reported, according to City of Houston News.

After being contacted, charges were pressed by the Harris County District Attorney's Office as Hamm lay in the hospital bed. The 208th State District Court is the battleground where Hamm will confront the charge levied against him.
