A Houston man has been slapped with a hefty 150-month sentence for pushing meth on the streets, U.S. Attorney Alamdar S. Hamdani revealed.

Jesus Alfredo Palacios, 25, admitted his role in the drug trade earlier this year, copping to the charge on Jan. 30 and Judge Andrew Hanen dropped the hammer during sentencing, mandating a decade-plus behind bars followed by five years of supervised release, the Houston man's troubles began when a law enforcement picked up on his operation back in January 2020.

It all came to a head on March 30, 2021, when cops spied Palacios exiting his dwelling with a beige backpack and hefty box in tow, stashing the goods in a 2011 Nissan Sentra; that's when police swooped in for the bust, tripping a potent waft of weed from his wheels.

Once they rifled through the Sentra, they stumbled upon a jackpot: two boxes in the back, three containers packed with 5,768 grams of meth – an 88% purity level confirmed by the lab coats, the Drug Enforcement Administration spearheaded the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces operation, with the Precinct 3 Harris County Constable’s Office chipping in on the takedown.

"Assistant U.S. Attorney Stuart A. Burns prosecuted the case.", according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas,
