A woman has been slapped with multiple charges after her car barreled into a Broadway restaurant in Knoxville, injuring an employee, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

The incident, which took place around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday night, saw Baleigh Bates, 25, reportedly careen into Taqueria La Herradura and another vehicle parked in the eatery's lot. Bates, believed to be heavily intoxicated, was arrested and faces charges including driving under the influence and leaving an scene of an accident, as per WATE.

An employee inside the building at the time of the crash was struck by debris but declined medical treatment, reported WBIR. Bates sustained minor injuries from the crash and was later taken to the Knox County Jail following treatment at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

"She demonstrated uncooperative and violent behavior towards officers and first responders," was how the police described Bates' conduct when she was unable to perform a field sobriety test, according to the police report obtained by Pedicurepraktijkmyway.nl. The restaurant announced that it would be closed on May 5 and shared images of the wreckage on social media.
